ASCINB strengthens its partners’ accountability in nutrition!
Since November 12, 2024, the city of Bohicon has been hosting a training workshop on accountability in nutrition, organized by the Alliance de la Société Civile pour l’Intensification de la Nutrition au Bénin (ASCINB) as part of the CASCADE project. The training session brought together local government departments, local journalists, web activists and civil society organizations (CSOs).
According to Aurélien ATIDEGLA, President of ASCINB, “the workshop meets a long-standing demand from our partners. It aims to build the capacities of nutrition stakeholders to improve the transparency and effectiveness of actions, in a multi-sectoral context requiring ongoing consultation between the various stakeholders.”
Louise Aylara, President of the Fédération Nationale des Femmes Agricultrices du Bénin (FéNaFAB), welcomed the initiative: “This training is essential to strengthen our ability to demand accountability and ensure better governance in the area of nutrition. I encourage you to take an active part in the exchanges.”
The CASCADE project, implemented by CARE Benin/Togo and GAIN, and financed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, operates in six departments of Benin. This workshop marks an important stage in the improvement of consultation frameworks, with the aim of fostering inclusive dialogue and ensuring better governance of nutrition at local level.
