ASCINB and FéNaFAB join forces in CASCADE project to strengthen local governance
The Alliance de la Société Civile pour l’Intensification de la Nutrition au Bénin (ASCINB) took part in a strategic workshop organized by the Fédération Nationale des Femmes Agricultrices du Bénin (FeNaFAB) in Covè, from December 4 to 6, 2024.
The workshop, which focused on Citizen Participation Cells (CPCs) as part of the CASCADE project, aimed to promote transparency, accountability and the application of laws such as the Land and Property Code (CFD) and the Law on Agricultural Guidance, Food Security and Nutrition (LOASAN).
The CASCADE project promotes greater citizen participation in decision-making processes, particularly for women and vulnerable populations. The aim is to strengthen local governance while improving living conditions for communities.
During the workshop, concrete initiatives were defined, including :
– Monitor the quality of school meals.
– Raise awareness of the CFD and LOASAN laws.
– Carry out hygiene inspections in food processing facilities.
– Organize interactive programs and discussion forums.

ASCINB and its partners are fully involved in these initiatives to establish and consolidate inclusive governance, which promotes harmonious collaboration between citizens and local authorities. The aim is to ensure development that is sustainable, equitable and focused on the real needs of communities.
